Answers to your questions regarding...
Elementary Catechesis
When and where do the 1st-5th graders meet for catechetical instruction?
Our elementary catechesis program meets at Holy Ghost Elementary School from 3:30-4:45 pm.
What if I can't take my elementary-aged child to class at 3:30 pm?
A chartered bus will run after school from Chippewa Falls public elementary schools to Holy Ghost school for catechesis. Students will still need transportation home after the program ends at 4:45. There is a small fee of $50 per family to ride the bus. Sign-up for busing is on the online registration form. Those who want to ride the bus need to go to Chippewa Yellow Bus office at 510 E South Ave, Chippewa Falls to fill out a bus re-routing form for their child. Parents should also inform their school office that their child will be riding the "CCD bus".
What if my child is sick and can't make it to class?
For safety purposes, please let us know if this is this case as soon as you're able. The curriculum for elementary catechesis, Word of Life, has an online version accessible from home through a Parent Portal. When your child is up for it, they can go through that week's lesson at home.

EDGE (6-8)
What is EDGE? Is that an acronym for something?
EDGE is a middle-school youth ministry program, created by Life Teen. It is part of a Eucharist-centered movement within the Roman Catholic Church that leads teenagers and their families into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church. It is not an acronym for anything, it just uses all-caps.

Is EDGE the same as religious education/CCD?
While every EDGE night is deeply rooted in the Eucharist, Scripture, and the Catechism, EDGE is very different from traditional religious education.
Each EDGE night utilizes a structure based off of our liturgy: Gather, Reflect, and Respond. Students and Core Team Members come together in the Gather to disengage from the world through a game based off of the night's teaching; during Reflect, a Core Leader evangelizes and catechizes through a concise talk; students break into small groups led by wonderful Core Members who help them dialogue and digest the teaching of the night; finally, everyone comes together to Respond to the Lord in prayer and worship.
Who is invited to EDGE?
EDGE is for 6-8th grade parishioners from any school or homeschool program in Chippewa Falls! Our aim is to unify the teens in our city, regardless of where they attend school, and we hope this program will help to accomplish this goal.
(If you are from outside of our city parishes, please speak with your home parish's pastor before registering as a letter is required and registration takes place through one of our city parishes).

What happens at Life Teen?
Teens come together for a series, issue or social night that follows a structure based off of our liturgy: Gather, Proclaim, Break and Send. During the Gather, they're invited to disengage from whatever else is going on in life and spend time doing a fun activity together. Proclaim is the core teaching for the night, and includes many Scripture and Catechism references. Break is when teens enter into small groups, led by the Core Members, and get to grapple with the realities proclaimed in the talk. Finally, Send is the portion of the night everyone comes together to respond to God in worship.
