Potential-Confirmandi: please read before going forward with registration below.
You've found yourself at the beginning of the journey towards receiving the sacrament of Confirmation. It is a transformative decision. In a way, it is the first-time you get to step forward publicly and say “Yes” to God and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in your soul.
Confirmation is the Sacrament in which one is enriched by the gifts of the Holy Spirit and bound more perfectly to the Church. It strengthens us and obliges us to be witnesses to Christ by word and deed and to spread and defend the faith. It is the Sacrament in which one enters full membership in the Catholic Church. It perfects Baptismal grace and incorporates us more firmly into Christ. Confirmation, like Baptism, imprints an indelible mark on the Christian soul. It cannot be removed, either by our own sin or anyone else's doing.
Please take a look at the Confirmation Handbook, as well as the details for this year's sacramental preparation schedule (below).

Goldsmith Confirmation Program Details
- The Goldsmith Confirmation Program is the sacramental preparation offered to students in their second year of high school; this program is for parishioners of our area's parishes: Holy Ghost, Notre Dame, St. Bridget, St. Charles, and St. Peter the Apostle.
- Those students who do not receive faith formation in Catholic school or at home (as a curricular part of their homeschooling or in an at-home format approved by their parish Pastor and DRE/CRE) are required to attend at least two years of Life Teen (high school faith formation) in order to be confirmed.
- Confirmation Preparation will take place on Sunday evening's at the GREC (old Notre Dame middle school, between Notre Dame and the Heyde Center), from 5:30-6:45 p.m.
- There will be 12 sessions from January through April, with the goal of intellectually and spiritually preparing our candidates to receive the sacrament of Confirmation.
- As there aren't many of these evenings, attendance is of the utmost importance. Any absences need to be communicated with the DREs/CRE as soon as possible. Excessive absences will need to be talked about with the parish pastor.
- Our format will be similar to that of Life Teen; however, we will have guest speakers coming in on different topics, and will mix up small groups for these nights.
This is a divergence from how preparation has been approached the last several years in our community. Confirmation, as one of the seven sacraments and the final sacrament of initiation for most people in our part of the world, deserves it's own time for preparation, apart from our Wednesday evening faith formation. If you have any questions about the impetus and thought behind this change, please feel free to contact your DRE or CRE.
Thank you, and be assured of our prayers for you!
